All about Import Export Code (IEC) Registration
When IEC Required? Import Export Code required in the business of export or import of goods and services in India.
Who issue IEC: IE Code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India.
IEC is one time registration. No renewal is required hence it is a lifetime validity certificate
IEC is issued PAN Based
No return filing is required for IEC holder, hence there is no recurring cost of maintenance
In case of Individual; PAN CARD, AADHAR CARD, Passport size Photo, Address Proof, Cancel Pre-printed cheque is required. further if address is not in the name of Individual No Objection Letter is required from the owner of the premises.
In case of Partnership Firm: Partnership Deed, Address Proof of Partnership Firm, Individual documents as mentioned above of all Partners.
In case of Limited Company: Certificate of Incorporation, Address Proof of the Company, Individual documents as mentioned above of all Directors.
Time required for Import Export Code is between two to three days

Points to be noted while applying for Import Export Licence
A unique mobile number and email ID is required of all Individual, Partners, Directors
After registration PAN number of the Company is use as IE Code, that is IE Code is PAN based
If registered under GST, address in Import Export Licence and GST should match
For applying for Letter of Undertaking under GST, Company should ensure Import Export Licence is available with them
For export or import of services such as Consultancy, Accounting, Taxation, Technical Know How or any other services rendered outside India, Company should apply for IE Code
Ensure PAN is linked with AADHAR Card and mobile number is linked to mobile number
Ensure Shop Registration details matches with Import Export Licence
